IS JENNIFER LOPEZ A DONE DEAL FOR 'AMERICAN IDOL'?

After a month or so of rumors, it finally appears as though Jennifer Lopez could be named an American Idol judge. TMZ reports that she's in final negotations with execs and that she's the last piece of the puzzle.

Although the other official puzzle pieces remain unclear, sources say that despite reports, Lopez hasn't called for high demands; that it's "been typical negotiating." If it's true, expect the deal sealed next week. Insiders say that Lopez could be the ticket to bringing more life to the show.

USHER'S RUMORED GIRLFRIEND HIDING A BABY BUMP?

Is Usher's rumored girlfriend hiding a baby bump? According to Theybf.com, Usher and former Def Jam exec Grace Miguel were spotted in downtown NYC yesterday (September 2nd) allegedly looking at real estate. Grace was rocking an oversized fluffy sleeveless blouse. As previously reported, rumors were going around the Usher and Grace were getting married and that she was having his third child.

DIDDY RESPONDS TO AGE DISCRIMINATION CASE

Diddy has responded to the age discrimination suit being filed against him by a Franchesca Spero -- a former Bad Boy exec who has claimed he fired her because she was "old and disabled." According to TMZ.com, a spokesperson for Diddy has released a statement saying, "This is a grab for money by someone who concedes in her complaint to having had a drug relapse while on the job and an employer who was not satisfied with her work. There are many reasons why Ms. Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them."

NICKI MINAJ SET TO PERFORM AT MTV VMA PRE-SHOW

Nicki Minaj is set to give her first-ever televised solo performance at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. According to MTV News, the rapper will perform her number 1 hit, "Your Love." Nicki said, "I am truly honored to be a part of this year's VMAs. Just yesterday I was an underground female rapper. See Barbz? Dreams do come true."

Nicki will also launch a contest on her Twitter page where 10 fans will be able to get tickets to watch her performance. The contest will begin on September 7th and the winners will be announced on September 10th.

KATY PERRY DYES HER HAIR TO SUPPORT RUSSELL'S FAVE TEAM

Katy Perry really knows how to stand by her man, comedian Russell Brand. According to the U.K.'s OK magazine, she dyed strands of her hair claret and blue -- the colors of her fiance's favorite soccer team, West Ham United. She confirmed the story, tweeting, "Yes it's true . . . I was born to be claret and blue . . . At least me hair dye is! :)"

Meanwhile, Perry must be feeling on top of the world this week. She arguably has the song of the summer with "California Gurls," has a Number One album on her hands with Teenage Dream and is about to tie the knot.

DEMI LOVATO IS SO OVER JOE JONAS: HER ADVICE? 'SUCK IT UP'

Demi Lovato doesn't seem to be crying any tears over her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas. The 18-year-old singer has been on tour with him and by the sound of it, she got over things pretty quickly, telling Celebuzz.com, "Well, you have to, 'cause you work with him. When you're hurt, it's easy to move on, so it was very easy for me to move on." As for advice to others trying to get along with ex's, Lovato says with a laught, "Suck it up."

Lovato, meanwhile, is working on a new album and has her eyes on some potential collaborators, including her pal Miley Cyrus. Lovato says, "We talked about doing a duo together, like an acoustic or something. That would be really fun to do with her. She's one of my best friends and she's super talented, so I'd love to have her on the album."

KAT VON D AND JESSE JAMES ARE IN LOVE: Kat told People magazine, "Jesse is only my ninth boyfriend. I don't hang out with anybody unless I am in love."

LINDSAY LOHAN HIT A BABY?? PerezHilton.com reports that Lohan pulled out of parking garage and accidentally hit a woman pushing her child in a stroller. When Lindsay was reached for comment on the incident, she simply told sources, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Whoops!

'TRANSFORMERS' EXTRA HURT ON SET: An extra on the set of Transformers 3 was hospitalized earlier this week after suffering a severe head injury while filming. The Indiana State Police reported, "Preliminary investigation revealed that shortly before 7 p.m, the movie crew was filming a stunt using numerous vehicles and drivers. During this stunt, an object struck a 2006 Toyota, hitting the vehicle, and then went through the windshield hitting the driver." Another extra said of the incident: "The vehicle was being towed by another vehicle. The cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull, apparently." The 24-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital, but her condition is unknown.

Ne-Yo has explained why he and his future baby mama Monyetta Shaw have decided not to get married. A lot of people have different opinions about our relationship but I'll put it to you like this She knows where my heart is at . . ."

LINDSAY LOHAN THREATENS LEGAL ACTION AGAINST HER DAD

Lindsay Lohan might involved in another legal battle -- this time regarding her father, Michael Lohan. RadarOnline.com reports that Lohan's lawyer sent a cease and desist letter to her dad's attorney, ordering him to stop selling her personal property.

In the letter, Lohan accuses her father of trying to sell her diary entries, which she wrote during a rehab stint three years ago. Radar reports that Lindsay had no idea her father had the diary and she did not give him permission to sell or distribute it. 

MILEY CYRUS, USHER AND BOYZ II MEN TO APPEAR IN BIEBER's 3-D FLICK

Miley Cyrus, Usher, Ludacris and Boyz II Men will be a part of Justin Bieber's upcoming 3-D feature film, as they were among the many guest stars at the 16-year-old pop star's concert Tuesday night (August 31st) at New York's Madison Square Garden. Also joining Bieber onstage was Jaden Smith, as well as Sean Kingston for their collaboration, "Eenie Meenie." According to MTV.com, Cyrus teamed up with Bieber for the song "Overboard," and Smith came out during "Never Say Never." He closed out the show with his hit "Baby" and was joined by Ludacris and lots of fireworks.

DOES LIAM HEMSWORTH WANT MILEY CYRUS BACK?

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are kaput, but could they get back together. An insider told HollywoodLife.com that there's a chance the former couple could rekindle their romance in the future, adding, "They both are of the mind-set that if it's meant to be, it will be."

But if the supposed source is to be believed, it sounds like Hemsworth is the one wanting to get back together. The source said, "Liam is holding out hope that he and Miley will get back together, but that's not going to stop him from letting another relationship occur. They are both content with the situation."

Although the movie wasn't a run-away hit at the box office, he said DVD sales have made the studio agree to a second go-round.

CONAN O'BRIEN ANNOUNCES NEW SHOW NAME

Conan O'Brien has unveiled the name of his new TBS late night show. And the winner is . . . Conan!

O'Brien made the revelation in a short video posted on his show's official TBS site -- although, as he noted, the hand-written announcement looked more like "Conaw."

Commentators on the web seemed to think the name is a good decision. MTV noted, "The solution to O'Brien's problem is indeed simple and elegant. He becomes the only late night host whose show is simply his name, a convention that has never really been used but is actually a brilliant idea. After all, it's unlikely that most fans ever knew the actual titles of any of O'Brien's previous shows -- the question was always, "Did you catch Conan last night?" It also puts the focus squarely on O'Brien and the idea that he is a singular personality who can carry a show all by himself. 

PARIS HILTON BANNED FROM LAS VEGAS HOTELS: In the wake of her recent arrest for cocaine possession, Paris Hilton has been banned from the Las Vegas resorts Wynn and Encore. It was recently reported that Paris's boyfriend Cy Waits -- who was also arrested that night -- was fired by Wynn, where he had been employed as Co-Chief of Nightlife Operations. Paris is continuing to deny, deny, deny. Her latest tweet? "These rumors going around are so ridiculous, untrue and cruel. I'm not going to even pay attention to them because I know the truth."

JON GOSSELIN DENIES HE TRIED TO EXTORT MONEY FROM KATE: Jon Gosselin's ex-girlfriend claims that he tried to extort money from ex-wife Kate, threatening to report her to Child Protective Services (CPS) unless she paid him. Hailey Glassman told RadarOnline.com that after his daughter Maddy hurt her arm, Jon planned to tell CPS that Kate caused the injury by yanking on the arm. Although she provided a note allegedly written by Jon, he denied the claim, saying, "Radaronline has been duped again by Hailey Glassman, who is apparently without a job and desperate for money. This article contains so many lies, they are too numerous to count. It is completely false and without any merit."

NICOLAS CAGE SETTLES LAWSUIT: Nicolas Cage has settled a lawsuit with his former accountant. Cage had filed suit against Samuel Levin in October of 2009, claiming the business manager misled him and overcharged for his services in the wake of a $6.26 million tax lien filed against Cage by the IRS. Levin then countersued, claiming Cage was solely to blame for his problems. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

JOHN TRAVOLTA GAY RUMORS SURFACE: Prior to the birth of his new son, rumors are again spreading that John Travolta has had gay relationships. A source told the National Enquirer, "John Travolta has been cheating on Kelly for years! And when the details emerge, he's gonna make Tiger Woods look like a boy scout." The tabloid claims that Travolta has been a participant in Hollywood's "secret gay spa subculture," where the actor has engaged in "lewd sex acts with other men" on several occasions.

There is a crazy rumor going around that Jay-Z is cheating on Beyonce. According to Diaryofastreetking.com, Jay allegedly has been cheating on Bey since before they got married, with a woman named Koreana White. The woman, also known as Kori, is a close friend of on-air personality Claudia Jordan.

 Sources told the site that they learned about Kori and Jay's alleged affair from her good friend Jason Lee and the site also allegedly confirmed the story with some of Jay's close associates.

Sources are claiming that when Miley Cyrus isn't on set filming LOL, she's been "all over" her new co-star -- British actor Douglas Booth. A bartender from a restaurant in the area where Miley is filming, told HollywoodLife.com, "It looked like Miley was very interested in [Douglas]. I thought they were boyfriend and girlfriend they were flirting so much."

The bartender continued, "She was really fawning all over him, acting really girly-girly. For his part, he seems to be eating up the attention." He added, "The flirting was very respectful and no, they didn't [kiss]. They were among friends and other people in the restaurant -- but she WAS falling all over him." 

LADY GAGA DOESN'T SEE PARIS HILTON AS AN ARTIST

Even though Lady Gaga attended New York's Convent Of The Sacred Heart school as a child with Nicky and Paris Hilton, the singer says she didn't hang out with the "popular blonde girls." She told Britain's Q magazine, "It's true [that we went to school together], but I don't see [Paris] as an artist."

She continued, "People assume that all the girls who went to my school were like Nicky and Paris . . . some girls were very artistic and some did drugs and didn't give a f*ck. It was just like any other high school. Except we had nuns."

JUSTIN BIEBER CANCELS CONCERT; BRITISH DJ CALLS HIM A BRAT

Justin Bieber had to cancel his performance on last night (August 29th) at the New York State Fair in Syracuse because he's "been super sick." The singer tweeted, "Been super sick lately but u guys are carrying me. thank u for the love." The concert has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 1st.

Meanwhile, last week BBC 1 Radio jock Scott Mills recently called Bieber a brat. He told Metro, "Seriously. Someone needs to have a word with him. He's a precocious little brat." After taking a beating on Twitter, Mills tweeted, "I may have called Justin Bieber a brat in today's metro! Just my experience of him, sorry.. Getting a few angry messages!"

USHER SAYS HE DOESN'T REGRET MARRIAGE TO TAMEKA FOSTER

Usher has revealed that he doesn't consider his marriage to his ex-wife, stylist Tameka Foster a failure. He told People, "I appreciate the relationship for what it was.

Even though it didn't work out, I'm glad we got together. I love her as the mother of my children; we just couldn't be married." Usher also revealed that the reason the relationship didn't work out was because after the birth of their second child, they start to disagree over everything from parenting style to his busy schedule. He said, "We're two different people and we have two different goals. It just was never going to work out 100 percent."

CHRIS BROWN RESPONDS TO RIHANNA'S TWITTER TAKEOVER?

This past weekend, Rihanna took over her Twitter account -- which was being used by her record label, and reports say her ex Chris Brown had something to say about it. Rihanna's first tweet was, "So now that I finally took over my Twitter page, no more corny label tweets . . . LOL! whasssupppppp!" According to Bossip.com, hours later, Chris reportedly took to Twitter and wrote, "TWITTER JUST GOT WACK!!!!!"

Chris later erased the tweet. The site reported that Chris' Twitter followers has said that his Tweet was posted in response to groupie, Kat Stacks -- who reportedly said that the singer was going to be her next victim.

JESSICA SIMPSON MAKING A CHRISTMAS ALBUM: Jessica Simpson says that she's working on a Christmas album. She tweeted, "I'm making another Christmas record!!!!!!!!! My BF @mcstephyblanche just made my office a winter wonderland! I'm SO inspired!"

BACKSTREET BOYS' A.J. MCLEAN HAS PINK EYE: A rep for the Backstreet Boys says that A.J. McLean's pink eye won't effect the band's remaining tour dates. The rep told TMZ.com that A.J. is "doing fine" and that the other guys remain uninfected. The tour will continue as scheduled.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA DROPS HOLLYWOOD HOME PRICE AGAIN: Christina Aguilera has dropped the price another $255,000 on her Hollywood Hills home. The pop star originally listed the house in 2008 at $7.995 million but after several drops, the house is currently priced at $5.995 million.

SARA BAREILLES TALKS NEW ALBUM: Sara Bareilles says that she's a lot more prepared for

mainstream success this time around than she was with her smash hit, "Love Song." She told Billboard, "Nothing is brand new to me anymore. ROBERT SCHIMMEL SERIOUSLY INJURED: Comedian Robert Schimmel was in very serious condition after a car accident last Thursday, EW.com reports. Schimmel's daughter, who is 19, was driving when she swerved to avoid an accident on an Arizona highway, and the car rolled over. The daughter was hospitalized, and was said to be in stable condition. Schimmel's son, who is 11, was also in the vehicle but was not injured. Schimmel is best known for his appearances on The Howard Stern Show. He's also the author of two books on his successful fight against non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2000.

FANTASIA IS ON THE REBOUND: Singer Fantasia, recently hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt, is back on her feet. And on Friday, she was briefly on stage in Las Vegas. The former American Idol winner unexpectedly appeared on stage at Palm's Casino Resort and belted out four songs, including Bittersweet, for a crowd that included Demi Moore and Soleil Moon Frye. According to People.com, she told the crowd: "I was in the hospital, but now I bounce back. Don't ever let your haters stop you. Don't ever let them stop your destiny."
